About Us
Our Purpose
				ILONA Children’s Education Centre is dedicated to girl survivors of sexual abuse, particularly those with impaired executive function. Our specialized learning environment offers a pathway to healing, education, and reintegration into the public school system.
The Need
				Research indicates a strong correlation between abuse trauma and poor academic performance, with about 48% of victims affected. In Uganda, 35.3% of girls have experienced sexual abuse, with a significant rise during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Our Approach
We were called for this, we love what we do
We provide a safe haven where girls aged 7 to 13 can receive counseling, psychosocial support, and special education tailored to their needs. Our dedicated team of trained educators works diligently to rebuild emotional resilience, executive function, and academic skills.
